REVIEW
2008 - 2009
Over the last 12 months Dragon Bonsai has had a very good and eventful year.

Here are just a few of the many highlights.

Dragon at Burrs

International master Enrico Savini.. Enrico Savini is a rising star in the Italian and European Bonsai Scene, the quality of his work is breathtaking in one so young.
2008 European new talent winner Ivo Saporiti.
International master Hans van Meer.
British artists, Terry Foster and Tony Tickle gave us all the benefit of their great knowledge and time.

Bob Hill'sOak

Bob writes:
This cracking oak tree was collected in the Italian alps. I bought it from Steve Tolley on one of our trips to his great yamadori bonsai nursery,

Wel
l the big day has arrived. It's Wednesday 26 th November and we are off to do some Christmas shopping. Not any old Christmas shopping though ! We are not going to Cardiff , Carmarthen , Swansea or even London and we don't even have a shopping list between us !
We are off to Dundry and Glenbrook Bonsai Nurseries
.

Dragon Beat the ‘Credit Crunch

It's the 26 th January 2009 and I don't know about you but this Winter has felt colder and longer than I can remember for quite some time. I will not enter into the ‘Global Warming' debate though. What I mean is it's been so cold here that the ground has remained permanently frozen and WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GO OUT COLLECTING !!!!!!!!!! Until today that is.

Winter Open day 2009

On the 8th February 2009 Bonllwyn garden centre presented it's Winter open show in conjunction with Dragon Bonsai Society.
Dispite the challaging weather, many attended. Some from as far as Cornwall, Devon and Cardiff.

Swindon Winter show

Dragon took it's first show outing for 2009 at the Swindon winter show and what a show it was.
This is the 7th winter show swindon has hosted and it has become one of the highlights of the British
bonsai calendar

Grand opening 2009

It started as one of many ideas thrown up by the members in early January 2009.

Pabling

It's Autumn 2008 and Chris is working in his nursery at Bonllwyn when two what he thinks are customers approach him. It turns out they haven't come to browse around the nursery but to talk to him about Bonsai. It was the beginning of a very interesting twelve weeks or so for the society and the beginning of a friendship that we all hope will last a lifetime.

Dragon wanted to change the feel of our annual society show in 2009. We aimmed to make the art of bonsai much more accessible to the general public. So, no showboating major demos.

Exmouth show

It's warm it's looking like it's going to be a sunny day and it's only 4.30am in the morning. We are off to the Exmouth Society Show. This time we are partnered up and travelling with Celtic Knot Bonsai.

What a Fantastic day we at the Dragon Bonsai Society had. The members came out in numbers and “ did us proud “ in my opinion with the fabulous display of trees on show.
