History : I happened to be visiting my Brother in Law one sunny afternoon in June 2008 only to discover to my horror that he had decided ( without telling me ) to tear up a hedge of Field Maples he had planted circa 14 years ago. By the time I got to him he had already disposed of the majority of the hedge, and what was left in his garden waste sack had been there bare root for almost a week. I managed to salvage 5 “ stumps “ shall we say with some evidence once of a fibrous root. I potted them up asap into multi purpose and to my amazement they started to flourish. I repotted them up after checking the root system in January 2009 into 100% Akadama. This year I commenced some initial styling and carving and focussed on the health of the tree.
